Texas electricity definition
Early termination fee
Also: ETF, cancellation fee, termination penalty
A contract charge that may apply when a customer ends a term plan before the applicable contract end condition.
What it means
The fee, exceptions, expiration date, requested switch date, and notice language must be verified in current contract documents. A fee matters to a switch decision only in relation to the remaining expected benefit and other constraints.
Eyebiss interpretation
How the decision system uses this concept
Eyebiss does not assume an ETF applies or is waived; it requires the household's current terms and timing.
